Removing A Cool Tattoo Design

Many people choose a cool tattoo design when they are young and regret it a few years later -- for most people there will always be moments when you regret the tattoo design. Cool tattoo designs are something that come and go -- many of the tattoos that seem cool at one point seem less cool as time goes on.

You may need to have a tattoo removed at some point if your idea of cool changes or if you just get tired of having a tattoo. Obviously, if you ever run for office or take an office job you will need to get rid of especially offensive tattoos (such as racist symbols). If you want to keep what you think is a cool tattoo design there are many things you can do to cover it up like wearing dark clothes or wearing clothes which are long enough to cover your tattoos. Dark clothes may be the only thing that camouflages the dark ink.

Makeup can also be used to cover up tattoos on areas of the body which can’t be covered by clothing. Lasers are another way you can permanently remove tattoos that no longer seem so cool. Laser surgery is quite efficient at removing tattoos -- although they can be quite painful. They work by removing the tattoo the same way surgeries to remove scars work. The only problem is if your once cool tattoo design is large it can be quite painful and can take several, painful sessions.

The laser tries and scrubs the tattoo off of your skin. You can usually get the laser tattoo removal at a cosmetic surgery clinic. If the original tattoo is small it might be quite simple. If the tattoo was large then a large area of your skin will be left feeling painful, inflamed and red. This is because the laser is basically burning your skin so that it will heal itself and leave new skin in place.

If you don’t want to try laser surgery you may get rid of your not-so-cool tattoo design by using some of the lotions and creams which have been made to get rid of tattoos. These creams supposedly help the tattoo to fade away. It is basically a makeup which makes the tattoo not as obvious and can lighten the tattoo over time although they never make the tattoo go away completely.

The benefit to these creams is that they are much less painful than laser removal. Some people who don’t like their old tattoos get a new cool tattoo design to go on top of, and cover up, the old tattoo.

Getting a new cool tattoo design is less expensive than getting an old tattoo removed with laser surgery. Plus, you still get to have a tattoo!
